A major new update for Warcraft 3 has rolled out for testing.

1.28 patch problems and solutions. Apr 5th 2017, 6:46pm. To Download the patch, Run WC3 The Frozen Throne as administrator; Change Realm to USeast and connect. The patch goes into the addon folder in the game data folder. If there isn't an addon folder simply create one yourself. The mod itself goes directly into the star wars battlefront II folder under steam. Feb 22, 2018  Patch 1.29 PTR is here! So to dive right into it, perhaps the biggest features include, true native widescreen support, the ability for 24 player maps. Note that all of these changes are in the public test realm, meaning it has separate Warcraft 3 server and download. But don't worry, these features should hit the main server when they are.

Now old enough to get a provisional driving license, the 16-year-old RTS now boasts 24-player servers and—finally—native widescreen support. And there's more to come, it seems.

It might seem a little odd for a game this old to be getting such an update now, but following the PTR launched last year, the patch rolled out in 2016 (the first for half a decade), and the recently announced a Warcraft III invitational, it's clear Blizzard isn't giving up on its older titles just yet.

More evidence that Blizzard will announce Warcraft III Remastered some time soon? Maybe. But for now, this update is all we have.
