I have searched, googled and examined mod descriptions. The only thing I haven't done is trawl thru thousands of comments on nexus, which I just can't do. I have a simple question that I can't find the answer to, and forgive me if it is blindingly obvious.

I'm reinstalling everything for a proper high res playthru of Skyrim. I know what I'm doing with mods for the most part.

I have the hi res DLC installed.

There's the Unofficial High Resolution Patch at Nexus. There's also the Bethesda Hi-Res DLC Optimized at Nexus.

Which one should I use, or should I use both?

Bethesda always leaves bugs and/or errors with all their creations. The official high resolution texture pack is no different. But, fortunately the community found these errors with the OHRTP and fixed them. If you like the texture pack from Bethesda, then you'll probably need this.
